I started making pottery in 1984 and set up my first studio in 1998, in Beverley. I was selling from a market stall in Beverley, but moving home once or twice made a permanent stall was difficult to maintain, and the cost of the workshop was becoming prohibitive. I eventually scaled everything down in 2003, and now work from a large insulated shed.
I enjoy making classic forms, and have decorated them with multiple gazes poured on, but I am now experimenting with crank clay, sometimes mixed with other bodies, in a more sculptural form, using ash glazes.
