My lifelong involvement in the construction industry has informed my method of processing ideas, working and now artwork.
Ideas come from snippets of conversation whilst laboring, patterned visual stimuli of my tools and constructs: profiles, ranging lines, planning practice and setting out. It is a search for variety within chosen formulaic restraints.
I use intuitive optimistically engaging colours that transform these structural restraints and imbue them with a life beyond their geometric boundaries. I want the viewer to see the processes behind the setting out of the work, and perhaps question the inspiration behind such apparently simple forms
