Claire West

I am a painter who has a joy of the intensity of colour and the emotions it inspires. I am to produce work to make both you and I smile!
Working predominantly on canvas in acrylic and inks, I produce textures through many layers of paint and random dripping of inks. As the paintings develop I often discover happy accidents that inform the finished piece.
I am inspired by many things including big open skies, quirky 1970s textiles and the chance sighting of wildlife hiding in the undergrowth.
